What kind of fittings

Hi all,

Went to change the pump Fri. and the new pump had a different size fitting, so back in went the old pump.

The fittings seal to the pump with o-rings and do not have tapered threads, though a 3/4 NPT fitting does screw into the threads, but won't seal.

The flange fittings also seal with a o-ring.

Looking for a name that I can call a distributor and ask for a fitting. sometimes describing doesn't quite cut it.

Thanks Don in Mo

    BSPP ?

Could it be BSPP? British Standard Pipe Parallel thread.

Both NPT and BSP 3/4" pipe has the same thread pitch of 14 TPI. The peaks and valleys of the BSP threads are rounded instead of flattened like NPT.

    You Are Correct!!

I was able to talk to the manufacturers USA rep today and he told me that they are indeed 3/4 BSP threads in the pump.

Now if I can find out about the fittings on the old pump and where to get them!

    BSP to NPT adapters

Try the McMaster-Carr site for BSP Tapered to NPT adapters.

    http://www.mcmaster.com/

If they are BSPP threads, then I do not know where to get adapters.
