Thanks Jim. when I got the old valve off and could measure it more carefully, I confirmed that it was indeed 1 1/2 in., which I easily obtained locally.

    I've been trying in a lot of places locally to get a 1 5/8 in. angle valve for a steam radiator. No luck, and I've been told that they are no longer available. Anyone have any better info and a source? Thanks.

    Radiator valve

    Pipe is measured by the inside diameter, so you probably have 1 1/2" pipe.

    1 1/2" radiator valves are still available. Cut and paste this link.
