How many sq ft. per dollar of fuel

Way too many variables to do anything in general. You need an exact heat loss calculation, design temps, efficiency of equipment, and a stable fuel cost. With todays volatile fuel prices, it would be very hard to calculate what you want. You could get close I'm sure, but close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and nukes.
Good luck.

This may be a bit backwards
If you knew the general construction of a house, and the degree days, how could you figure out how many square feet you could heat to a certain temperature for a specific amount of money.
My wife and I are involved with the Salvation Army, and it just occurred to me that knowing this may be more useful to some people than just generally trying to conserve fuel.
Thank you.0
