Controls
The boiler should have a control that only fires the boiler when the indirect tank calls for recovery. We usually use a Tekmar 150 setpoint control. The boiler should be wired for a "cold start", and not maintain a constant temperature. Hpefully, you have an outdoor reset control on the boiler to manage the system temperatures. If you don't have one, you'll find that the OD reset control can save an additional 10-20% of the yearly fuel costs.
