piping for adding coal fired steam boiler to oil boiler

I am considering installing an Axeman-Anderson coal fired automatic stoker boiler to our existing oil fired boiler so either or may be used depending on fuel situation. Any words of wisdom on the tandem or duplex piping?

Make sure
the normal waterline of both boilers is the same. This way the "A" and "B" dimensions will not change.
Pipe each boiler with its own header and Hartford Loop, then run the steam lines from both headers to a common header, as illustrated on page 67 of "The Lost Art of Steam Heating".
Install a king valve on each boiler header output, and a valve on the line leading to each Hartford Loop. This will let you isolate either boiler from the system when it is not in use.
Wire the system so only one boiler can be operated at a time.
I'm sure there are more details to be added, but these are what came to mind quickly.
