Lots of opinions. I wouldn't own one, or any like it. I recently had a customer ask about installing one, and after some research we are putting in an Eko gasification boiler for a number of reasons.
Many municipalities are adopting regulations on outdoor boilers, from what I can gather " grandfathering" is not common. Units that do not meet what would be an EPA standard are given a time limit to be taken OOS.
Gasification boilers can burn approx 1/2 of the wood (cleanly) for the same BTU output
The europeans are way ahead of us in the application of this technology, I don't believe a unit such as the CB could be used in most of Europe.
