the problem could even be oil related..high vacuum, air leak. It's time for a full depth service call to find the culprit.

    Burner relay keeps tripping

My Beckett burner keeps tripping the relay but its seems to do it on an overnight basis. When I reset it fires right up. It seems to happen in the summer but not during heating season. Could it be a power issue from CONED that's fooling the relay? Maybe a weak igniter? Any opinions? Thanks

    relay tripping

Obviously the easiest thing to do is to change the relay. Sound like a weak contactor if its an older relay. Could be a poor or weak cad cell. A good tech should have a tester to check both.....easier than guessing and being a parts changer.

    Relay

Some of the older Becketts came with burner motors that were labeled "Beckett". I've found a lot of these that don't return to the start windings after a run. They can be easily checked with an ohms meter. Todd

    This has

to diagnosed in a methodical manner, which is beyond almost all DIY'ers. You may get lucky and get it on the first part you change if not you would be ahead of the game to call a pro.
If you are going to change the cad cell relay,I would recommend a Beckett Genisys with a display. It will provide some info to make further diagnosis easier.
