Reducing fire rate of NYorker CLW4

I have a CLW4 New Yorker that I want to get ready for next winter heating season. I also use it to make hot water via an indirect tank all year. Right now it fires at 1.35 gph and I want to bring it down to 1 gph. What if any drawbacks would that bring. The boiler heats cast iron radiators throughout the 1800 square foot house.
The boiler has a coil which I never used before. What temp could I set the aquistat at for the summer to conserve oil, and what would be the lowest practical settings for the winter time?
Thanks
