My son

Mitch is 16 and this is his 1st summer of lifeguarding at a local city pool.

He went into the water for his 1st rescue/save today and I am so proud.

I know as a lifeguard, a rescue is going to be a logical and inevitable occurance, but that does not lessen the immense pride I have for him.

Milne, if your out there, Wait til you hear my son flat-pick an acoustic guitar.

He is such a great young man. Thanks for letting me share this with my friends.

For someone only 16

For a kid only 16 it shows a lot of maturity for his age. Does he have a goal of becoming a police officer or firefighter, maybe medical field? You have a lot to be proud of with that boy.

He saved a life. Yes its his job, but that dosn't lessen the fact that a child came home to his parents because of your son.

Get used to it. My son got his certs about 5 years ago. And while he hasn't lifeguarded in a few years, it seems that he uses the first aid skills at least a couple of times a year. Car accidents, people having seizures, etc.

It will absolutely amaze you once you get to see him in action. I've seen my son do his stuff three times. Way cool to watch.
