My Grandfather has been in Roscommon for 30 odd years, I don't know the Holsteins. Must have cattle. I'll call you tomorrow.
Thanks,
Michael

    Looking for Michigan heating company

    Hi,
I'm looking for a heating company in Michigan (anywhere) that does hydronic heating (mostly) that would be interested in doing solar also. I am originally from Michigan and want to move back. I've been doing Solar Thermal for 2 years. I would love to hook up with a good heating company that would like to get into solar thermal. I have some boiler experience and radiant heating. All my Family lives in Michigan and would be great to do what I love and be near them.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    where abouts?

I did a 5 city tour through Michigan from Troy to Traverse City recently and met plenty of great contractors. Many with hydronic and solar experience, or looking to go solar.

Check with local trade associations, reps, and supply houses. They can usually point you to the knowledgeable and progressive shops.

Be careful where you move in Michigan. You have family there, so I'm sure you know what state the economy is in there. I'd say try to get as close to the tip of the "mitten" as possible. Any cities or suburb that would be or used to be considered "industrial" or "factory" towns have almost become ghost towns since Granholm got into office. I went to visit in March after being gone for a few years and was surprised at how few businesses were left that weren't national chains.

Besides, northern Michigan is BEAUTIFUL. I'd love to retire to northern Michigan someday. I'm a transplanted Yankee...sort of. I'm Texan by birth, but my parents were both raised in lower Michigan.

    Try Krutsch Mechanical

They are located in Taylor. Art Grace is the owner and is heavy into hydronics and willing to take on any market.

Contrary to previous post, there are no ghost towns in Michigan, just ones with less congestion. It is still and always will be a great place to live.
  • Isn't Ebels a Michiganer?

I know HE knows how to do it right.

    Vacation '08

We just returned from Vacation last week. Visited the greater Detrioit area, mainly the Henry Ford museum areas. It was absolutly fantastic, we loved it. It appeared to be a very busy area. We went from there to Niagra falls and then came back a more northerly route and thoroughly enjoyed more Michigan. You have a beautiful state!

On a side note we returned to the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area just in time to see the record breaking floods of '08. Wow. I've never been in a war zone but the aftermath downtown is just how I'd envision one.

    Big
scary bridge? Yeah sometimes, a few years ago a Yugo got blown off it. I don't think they ever found the driver tho. I live in the middle of Michigan. The UP is just beautiful. Lake Superior is just that. Good luck finding someone for your needs, let us know here how you make out.

    That would be me

Located in the suburbs of Falmouth where the Holsteins outnumber the people 2-1. A fact we are very aware of whenever the wind is out of the North.

    Holsteins

About 400 of 'em. You know the type, long tail, long nose, hay in one end, milk out the middle and debris of all types out the rear........ Those Holsteins.

Roscommon eh? We're going to be there probably Tuesday through Thursday renovating the steam system in the old Spruce Motor Lodge. For the rest of the week my better half says I'm unavailable. Our youngest is getting married Saturday so she thinks that's more important than work......... I've learned that she's usually right.
