oil fired monitor boiler

They do claim real high efficiencies, but reality is thye do not have any real controls on the boiler to make things run that high. As with most boilers you need to add controls and piping to make it operate at lower return temps, and then you may get things to operate at what they say they get.

A related concern....if they do condense, as they state they will. I question if the thin stainless heat exchanger will last long.

A last concern.....check and see how good the rep is in your area for these. In ours its the same guy who sells the monitor space heaters, and he is not really into hydronics. A boiler is only as good as the rep who will stand behind and warranty it if it has a problem.

    oil fired monitor boilers

Evening all, wondering if anyone has installed or had experience with monitor oil fired boilers ? Just saw the advertisement, they claim some pretty high efficiencies. We've used Biasi and the Crown freeport,#2 fuel, but nothing in the range of efficiency they list. I,m in Maine so the gas units don't really sell, but if the Monitor performs as well as the listed numbers with #2 fuel I,d like to try one.

    FCX

    Mike,

I can testify to the FCX's claims. I have one in my house and I installed one in my neighbor’s house. Both have cut fuel consumption by 20% to 40%.
It took me a while to understand how the 2 temp works out of the boiler but now that I understand; I can help you with your design.
Drop me a note if you are interested.
