danfoss thermostatic control valves

Do the individual thermostatic control valves (Danfoss) work well on the two pipe steam system? We have a 36 unit apartment building with very uneven heat (92 close to boiler 67 far end of building). Venting seems to be good now just can't get the last two units up to temp without overheating the rest of the building and killing us with gas bills. I hate a/c units running in the winter!
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Regarding thermostatic and 2 pipe steam

I would say you would be well served with thermostatic valves as long as you use the correct model for this. Tim

    uneven heat

Danfos TRVs are great, but they don't always solve overheating problems.

I use them a lot, but usually at the end of a building wide campaign to provide even heat.

If you have not gotten the steam out of the return lines, the TRVs do no good as the steam will come to the radiator through the return lines.

Have you replaced all bad traps or installed orafices in the steam supply?

What kind of boiler control are you using?

You say the venting work is done, so I assume you have quick vents on the steam risers and condensate return lines (top floor and basement) in the entire building but especially for the lines that feed these last two radiators?

Have you replaced all vents and on mains and returns. What brand are you using on radiators. I use Gorton 4 -5- C- D on balancing radiators and VariVent on a cold unit. and have gone from near 20f difference to 2-3f, if you use a thermostat vent tennants can not be allowed to be able to adjust them. With your variance your overall venting is likely totaly wrong.
