probably around 150 outlet temp on boiler depending on the delta

t of system. Usually you want to not go below about 135 - 140 degree return temp.
  • hmmm, when i installed

this system, i had approx 0 knowledge/planning, and not too much more real understanding now, so, bear with me on these questions

i'm controlling it with a h-well L8148e, set at 180degs. with two circuits of staple-up and taco mixing valves, i can't keep the circuits lower than 130 and 140degs supply respectively. now, right after firing with the pumps running, and measured with a cooper contact thermometer, primary loop, my boiler supply is at 218degs and the return is 214. circuits as mentioned

so here's what i think; i have more boiler than i need, and/or my pumps are too big/too little heat loss to the floors

so, without making changes, new pumps/another zone/water heater, to the system, can i just lower the h-well to 160degs? would the boiler care, as long as the supply/ return aren't out of the 15-20deg drop?

Way too high, lower it to 155 to 160, should be much better.

  • thanks for the helpful

and prompt responses. will do. and i'll keep you posted

oops! the h-well doesn't have a setting below 180. looks like a new one is in order
