Air injection iron remover

I will look into the Water Right unit.
I am very satisfied with the operation of my present unit though. It's has worked very well for probably about 10 years... When I tested it, there was zippo iron after the filter. Lately, though, I'm not getting much flow. I have gauges on both sides of it, so I can see that it has a big pressure drop.
My question was more along the lines of: should I dump the old media out and put in new? Does anyone have any advice / experience on that ... or should I just get a whole new unit?
Thanks though for the advice on the Water Right. I'll be Googlin' it right now.

replacing birm media
Anyone have any suggestions, insights, opinions, on replacing the birm media in an air injector iron remover?
I've had mine for a good many years and it seems to be plugged up. I am thinking about dumping the whole works out and putting in new.

they are
They are a major pita when having those unit(s). Plug up easily if you don't have good water pressure for backwashing to "lift" the media for iron removal. I recommend Water Right unit. One unit will remove iron, iron bacterias, sulfer, sulfer bacterias, hardness in one pass. At the same time, during regenration, the unit will chorined itself, using the brine solutaion(sp).
As always, have the water tested for proper equipment. One of the best feature is to use only regular block or pure salts, never is the rust remover salt or chemicals in these unit.0 -
yes replace....
the Birm. I do not agree w/ replacing the entire unit...especially if it means adding salt to a system that does not need it....ie. hardness. I know a lot of people that are satisfied.0
