Steam velocity
What is the maximum velocity in headers and steam mains. I have heard both 50 and 60 fps in mains and 30fps in headers. I need to size a header for tying together two steam boilers. Thanks in advance0 -

Consider the condensate also if there not both on line.0 -
2 MST629 boilers with 3" headers.0 -
I'd use
a 4-inch main header and drop the 3-inch outputs from each boiler header into that. Drip the end of this header the same as you would a boiler header, but run your drip to the system side of the individual boilers' Hartford Loops.
