gas surcharge

I have charged a "drive up" fee for about 20 years. It varies based on distance from shop to jobsite. Everybody pays at least the minimum.

gas surcharge
Any of the Wallies adding a gas surcharge to service calls to help offset gas prices? Or is anyone raising hourly rates to compensate for these crazy prices. Just trying to fiqure out what to do to keep customers happy and keep gas to truck. Harder and harder to keep afloat.0 -
When does a gas surcharge cross the threshold into just the cost of doing business?
I have had a gas surcharge on my garbage bill for over a year now. Think it will ever go back to 2.00 a gal.?

I just raise my rate per call, add it into my price of doing business.
A "surcharge" comes across as something temporary. It makes it sound like when the price of whatever the surcharge is for, goes back down, the "surcharge" would no longer be charged. I don't think the price of gasoline is going back down any time soon.0
