GAS PIPE SIZING

according to my tables for piping in general (and not sure why this would not apply), a one-inch standard elbow is worth 5.2 equivalent linear feet. (Long radius -as if- would be 2.7 ELF.)
While we are at this, a tee with straight flow would be 3.2 ELF and branch flow 6.6 ELF. A 45 elbow is worth 1.3 ELF. This is all for one-inch pipe size.

How many equivelant feet of pipe is an elbow on 1\" gas pipe
Can anyone help me with this.
My copy of the fuel gas code is in my office and I need to figure this out tonight.
How many feet of pipe should you add for each ninty degree elbow on a 1" gas line.

Sizing
I have a book from Central Hudson that says to add 5 feet for an elbow.0 -
Canadian gas code is 2.62 feet.0 -
Sure that is not
in Meters, eh?
I mean, our dollar is down in value compared to your guys, practically at parity, and now you go playing with our feet? What gives?0 -
Nope.
0.80 meters.
I use feet and inches, and fahrenheit for boiler temps but celsius for outdoor temps.0 -
And I use
furlongs per fortnight to express velocity.
So there!
Actually your 2.62 feet is roughly that of a long radius (1.5 R) elbow, the use of which I applaud. If anything they also look nicer.0 -
GAS PIPE SIZING
Thanks much to all those who replyed, you were a big help.
I am curious though, if anyone find somewhere on line where this information is available?
Our survey determined that they need a new gas service to the building, a larger gas meter and to replace the 90' of 1" gas line with 1 1/4".
Another case of this job costing a lot more to go with the "low bid".
Thanks
paul

Pressure
Paul, contact your gas supplier and see if they can change the service to 2PSI. Add a Lbs to inches regulator at the end and your good to go.There was an error rendering this rich post.

Code
Here in MA at least, we cannot have over 0.50 PSIG (14" WC) gas inside a building, at least without a special permit. Just a point to ask in your locale.
