FIXED! ......(JohnNY)

Back on January 10, a homeowner in NYC started <A Href="http://forums.invision.net/Thread.cfm?CFApp=2&&Message_ID=375535&_#Message375535">this thread</A>.

After three or four plumbing and heating companies' failed attempts to straighten this out, we finally got the homeowner to agree to let us rip it all out and start over. All that we left in place was the radiators themselves.
We replaced about 400 feet of copper with pipe, fittings and joints we could trust.
We added expansion compensators along the three-tiered, 100-foot-long run and used cushioned Kindorf clamps where it made sense to and left the pipe unbracketed where necessary.

The pipe expansion was creating leaks on the copper joints and cracks on the masonry walls. It was probably the worst example of this I've seen in a residential setting.
The noises were disturbing.

So the first thing we did was to move all the furniture into a corner of the main room and encapsulate everything.

Next, we protected the floors, shelving and electronics.

Then 4 days of piping, purging and testing.

It's all good. Their friend-of-the-family engineer friend (who was very helpful with sourcing compensators among other things) gave the client the thumbs up to cut us a check. Check is cleared.

Piece o' cake.

What else you got?
