Control wiring foe geothermal radiant

I,am installing a Water Furnace Synergy 3 system which produces hot water for radiant floor heat and forced air heating and cooling. One zone is forced air heating and cooling the other zone is radiant floor heat and forced air cooling. I,am using a 80 gallon storage tank for the hot water, using a tek-mar 256 outdoor reset control to control my water temperature and a Taco swithing relay to control my circulators. My question is, has any one had success with controling this type of system with one thermostat in each zone. I know that I can control the radiant floor with one stat and the forced air with another stat, but it sure would be alot simplier from a operation standpoint if the customer only had to set one thermostat in each zone.

The question is a little confusing. Perhaps you could restate it a different way. It would seem to me if you have different zones with diffferent types of heat you would need different thermostats to control them. WW

If I understand question right, Tekmar has one for you

  • might not work

Not sure if that would work, I believe that heat pump you are using is two stage heat plus emergency heat (if installed) plus a radiant base load is four stages and tekmar only makes up to a two stage stat.

I've installed a few of those Water Furnace dual function units when we sub radiant floor for this geo guy a couple towns away and don't like them much, they are very limiting. In our own installations we use a water to water heat pump with fan coils, this way you get the best of both worlds (the ability to run the forced air and radiant at the same time instead of just one or the other) and the ability to use a single thermostat for forced air and radiant.
