Eutectic Burner

Is it an AFG or an NX that comes in this boiler? Just wondering what Slant Fin picked out and why. The other option is a Riello 40 series. The few threads on here about installs claimed they were incredibly quiet and I was wondering what burner they used.

    Eutectic burner options.

Hi again. I'd like some opinions / experiences with what would be the best burner for a Slant/Fin Eutectic EC13A boiler. The specs on Slant Fins website show the Beckett AFG and Riello F3. From what I can tell, the AFG draws about twice the electricity of the NX and F3. Other than that, any experiences?

    The NX

AFAIK, uses the same motor, primary and ignitor as the AFG. Given that, why would the AFG use more electricity?

    Dunno.

I have no idea, could be the capacity. The specs on Beckets website show:

    NX

    Motor: 3450 rpm, NEMA M-flange
    Power Supply: 120 V./60Hz./1 phase
Ignition: Continuous duty solid state igniter
    Operating Load: 2.0 amps (maximum)

    AFG

Motor: 3450 rpm, NEMA M-flange, manual reset overload protection
    Power Supply: 120 V./60Hz./1 phase
Ignition: 10,000 V./23 ma. secondary, continuous duty shielded transformer
    Operating Load: 5.8 amps (maximum)

    Hmmm

In the training module for the NX, it lists the maximum as 5.8 amps too. I guess their specs are a bit all over the place. It looks like the same motor thats for sure.

    Remember

An AFG might have an iron core transformer and old style motor and three wire control whereas the NX should have the PCS motor with solid state ignitor and six wire control AFG might have the PCS motor with solid state ignitor and a six wire control if it does then all is equal.

It looks like the AFG specs on our website are ancient and incorrect, like Steamhead said the AFG and NX have identical electrical components therefore the NX electrical specs would be the same for both.

    Yes Charlie

if we buy them off the shelf today but what is in the field now with an AFG could be any combo.

What's on our website should represent what we currently manufacture. The question was about our burners on the Eutectic boiler and I don't think we will be shipping those with the old components.

I wan't trying to be argumentative was just trying to explain to Chaz why the differences he was seeing, as for updated web sites I wish more were updated sooner, but on the otherhand to be able to find info on older equipment is just as valuable to me. And thanks for all you do and putting out a great product.
