What is the deal with these boilers? Are they low end? Does anyone know the scoop on these things?

very bad rep in our area

IF you want any parts you might as well take a trip to Korea where they are made.

    My Opinon

The gas boiler is very efficient...but it has to be installed exactly as the instructions say with clean primary/secondary piping. About two years of service and it will start to leak out of every plastic fitting on it...and there are lots. There is no mass...so your design has to factor that in. Parts here are hard to get. They are being peddled to owner installers which voids the warranty.

The oil boiler is another story altogether...it is inherently unsafe in any configuration. There are no safties switches on the oil train...it will just pump away until it ignites or floods. Can you say boom?

Getting DHW storage out of either unit takes some control magic.

Other than that I don't have any strong opinion!

Steve...I called the East Coast and told them I wanted a full set of service parts for both boilers...free to me...and they did it. That would give you at least a draw-pile to work from.
