Is there asbestos in a National Radiator Corp 400 Series?

Does anyone know if National Radiator Company 400 Series boilers contained asbestos insulation?

The serial number (if it helps) is "A 406".

See the picture below.

Thanks!

    Actually

the A-406 is the model number. That's an old "Heat Extractor" boiler that could burn coal, oil or gas. It almost certainly has asbestos inside the jacket.

This boiler has a rating of 3000 square feet EDR on a steam system, and with an old-style burner it had an input rating of 9.25 GPH! It must be in a pretty big building.....

Yes it will have asbestos in it

It may have asbestos insulation behind jacket and also one that is often overlooked is there is asbestos packing between the sections like a caulking. This takes some work for the abatement guy's to get out or best if they just demo and haul boiler out during abatement process. Good luck, Tim. PS, dont forget the asbestos that is most likely around the flue at brick chimney too.
