Mr Scott First, your 2 inch insulation should be dow board high load, expensive. The tarps are much cheaper, make sure you do not leave any open cuts on tarp just fold over when needed. Next, the lenght of your circuts with 5/8 should not be more than 250 feet. Use 1 inch hose, you can go 500 feet.

snow melt in ashpalt
here's what i could find, if there is anything else to this please let me know, tricks or problems, warnings?
1- 100 btu's per ft2
2- minimum 1 1/2 sand over the top of tubing(is that enough to hadle the heat of asphalt install)
3- fill system with water before asphalt, purge air, and pump up to 60psi for light vehicle travel.
4- 2 inches of foam insulation under tubing.( will that foam hold up to heavy traffic over time? this is a parking lot. Insultarp?)
5- 3 gpm min for 5/8 tubing, 500 ft loops.
6- normal oxygen barrier tubing, no need for multicore, fostapex(veiga), alumicore tubing.0
