    Hey Fellas,
Just curious of your opinion on the Hoffman Dura-Stat Module for rebuilding steam traps. They seem easy to install. Are they too good to be true? Is there a better alternative?

    Back-story:
I'm bidding my first big steam repair job at my old grade school. The steam traps have all pretty much failed (they haven't been looked at since Regan was in office ), the knucklehead working on the system now has the steam cranked up to near blow off pressures... rigged the condensate receiver vent up and out of the building... A pile of condensate pump "cadavers" in the boiler room... I can go on and on...

    Thanks for your time,

    Mike

    They've worked OK for us

but maybe our customers' systems aren't as rusty as those Gerry has run into.

Our favorite is Tunstall though, with B&J second.

What model number B&J or tunstall

What model numbers replace Hoffman 17C steam traps.  I have been using the Dura-stat but they are getting very pricey and limited in where i can get them
