I purchased a honeywell RTH5100B thermostat for my steam system. It seems that I have been using more oil with this thermostat than with my old CT87 thermostat. The set temp. is the same on both thermostats. Is this the right thermostat.thank you

You probably have the cycle rate set on the factory setting of 5, which will cause the boiler to cycle to rapidly and cause issues. Find your installation manual and go to the installer set up page. Go to setting number 5 and change the number on the right from 5 to 3 and see how that works. If it still seems to be a problem change it from 3 to 1.
Also, if you misplaced the manual, here is a link to it.
