How to Store Old CI HW Rad When Not In Use

This kitchen rad is being removed in a renovation, but I want to keep it for the basement someday. Should the two openings be plugged (with what?) or just kept open to the air. Can rusting be avoided?
And anything special to do when reactivating it? Maybe some Rhomar cleaners?
Thanks,
David

Arco rad.
I'm no expert. Blast it with hot water, dry it well and cover the openings with metal window screening to keep out rodents and insects.0
