Both gauges can be mounted on the same side.

Vaporstat/Pressure Gauge Placement
Bkg: new boiler (this season) with one mercury vaporstat and 2 pressure gauges (req. and provided 30 psi and added 15 psi).
When improving the vaporstat location by changing the horizontal (90°) pigtail to a better vertical (180°) and higher position, is the following placement OK: vaporstat directly above the pigtail on a brass connector (I know thats OK) - but both pressure gauges on a connector on one side, e.g. left side, of the vaporstat or do the pressure gauges have to be separated so one is on the left and one on the right for balance? The balanced gauge location or movement of the vaporstat to one side to achieve balance will be harder to accomplish for practical reasons, e.g. one bottom connection and one back connection gauge, near boiler spacing, wires, etc.
I ask this question because I know about the pigtail trying to straighten when subjected to heat of steam necessitating correct donut position, but am wondering if heat will also affect the more rigid brass pipe/connectors enough so that having the gauge connection all on one side and thus positionally unbalanced off-center, will affect the level (and mercury action) of the vaporstat even though the gauge connection will be protected by the pigtail.

Thanks, Noel,
and I assume leaving the vaporstat centered above the pigtail, rather than moving it to the non-pressure-gauge side will also be OK.0 -
That's OK, too
