F14 in boiler room ?

Over the past year it seems my Wmc Cg boiler has been getting louder on gas ignition. The pilot lights - the gas ignites - and the boiler sounds like an F14 on after burners for about 30 seconds and then settles down to being nice and quite. The flame looks normal (nice and blue - no spill out). Could it just be my aging ears or sound of a bigger problem in advance ?
Thanks in advance
