bob bona - i was just having a little fun... i just wanted to see what kinda of response from you people i would get with that kind of question... lol there's 4 possible suspects when the riello F series stays in pre-purged with immediate flame dropout... either bad, cad cell eye, control box, yoke, or valve stem... i just wanted to see how you guys would give an answers to that problem...lol sorry just having a little fun...

What could the problem be if the riello F5 burner constantly runs in pre-purge with immediate flame drop out???

    wait a minute

I thought you said in the other thread that Riello rules, Becketts are N/G?
    Hmm.

Check the tab clips where the xformer slides in. Make sure they aren't spread apart too far. Check Hg. To start.

    pre purge

Any chance the cell is seeing stray light and fooling the control into thinking there is an existing flame?

    The Riello Training guide says:
Burner continues to purge and Lightoff with immediate flame dropout (530 SE Only)
    .Metal yoke coil missing
.Coil wire #2 and #8 reversed
.Low resistance of coid hoiding curcuit, terminals #1 and #2, (1350 ohms +/- 10%)

Having no idea of that or what it means I pass on the information to you.

Just ran into this on a brand new install. Turned out to be just a nozzle. Start with the basics.

make sure electrodes are properly adjusted, too close and the burner will not light, but stay in pre-purge
