James Has Left Us
Seaman James Ehrlich was taken away from us last night after over 105 days in a coma. As posted last week he was taken off of life support last Monday (his and his wife's 4th anniversary)
Yesterday was James 25th birthday. This brave young man volunteered to go on the ground in Iraq and was severely injured while training for his deployment at Fort Lewis,WA.
Please pause and say a prayer for this unselfish hero his wife Lizzie and three year old son Joseph. Also for his family and loved ones.
Thank you!0 -
A real hero. I will pray for his family.

Sorry for your loss...
It's sacrifices like his and his family's that keep us free and there are no words to properly thank them.0 -
How Awful
I am so sorry to hear that. He was no doubt an American Patriot to volunteer to go to Iraq. May God give his family peace in this terrible time of loss.

Ironic
This is one of these things that feels like a burdened lifted now that he has passed away. I had some mixed feelings about the life support being taken off (As did his parents)
Now I know it was simply wishing (or praying) for his recovery when it was not going to happen. When his organs started to shut down and he could not get nutrients it was the right decision to let nature take its course.
His young wife has been very strong while staying at his side throughout all this. They are great people and have had over 20,000 visits to the caringbridge.org website that has his story told through his fathers journal. This is a book quality chronological journal that will tug hearts from even the hardest people. The site is "caring bridge.org" type in jamesehrlich.
Ironically after all that praying for recovery the end result brings closure instead of prolonged stress on his loved ones.
Thanks everyone, I know I vented a little too much on here but this is my favorite site and we all need somewhere to vent.
Another clear example of a young person who was willing to serve and protect the many things we take for granted. He is a hero and will be remembered as such!

He is at peace
How awful indeed-
His service for this, our country, should always be remembered and deeply appreciated especially by those of us safe here at home.
Memorial Day and Veterans Day so often pass in a blur of the general, the abstract, sometimes. May James' memory put a name to them.
I am so sorry for your loss.0
