    plugged guage?

I have a residential Peerless steam boiler and after the unit has been off for an hour sometimes, the guage still reads anywhere from 1-5 pounds of pressure. It was a new install in October.
Could it be clogged? need a new guage?
It is a round guage that reads "internal syphon" and psi below that.thanks guys.

    Probably is

the trouble with "internal syphon" gauges is that once the syphon clogs, it's all over.

Get a standard brass pigtail syphon and a standard gauge. If the pigtail under the Pressuretrol is iron, change it to brass also.
