Any interest?
Last year, the first BUNYC was held on April 20 and it was a good time for all involved, save for the grappa damage.
That date is too close to this year's Wetstock, though they're geographically very far apart.
Anyone up for another one? Ideas?
I've got a great Spanish restaurant in a lively neighborhood willing to work out a deal with us or an outdoor thing at this place which is on the water and is a very unique location (don't let the cheap website fool you, the place is VERY cool).

are Red Sox fans allowed?
If there's a mini-van (or a few 14 passenger vans...either way) ride from Mass I'll join up and pay for my share. Sounds like fun.

Big Ugly NYC
John, Count me in, if I'm around. One of the best times of the year!! jw0 -
Depending on the date...
we could be up for it. Last year was a fantastic time!
The only blackout dates we have are from May 17th and the following week. Something called a honeymoon
But let's see what happens!0 -
Yes
I missed last year, but will make an effort to attend this one.
Just a suggestion, the place looks great, but seems to be outdoors. Maybe a later date when nice warm weather is here to stay.

Let me be the first to congratulate you and your dear Susan.
CONGRATULATIONS!!

Congratulations, Brad.
It's funny.
That same week, Maria and I will be returning from our 10-year wedding anniversary trip to Greece (Santorini, Mykonos, Athens).
So I was thinking much closer to June anyway.

To tell you the truth , I really liked the informal setting of the first get together . The Molly Wee Pub . Show up if you can , no need for a head count , mingle with Wallies and non Wallies .......
I remember before the Molly Wee was decided on , there was another pub we were going to meet at . Was it Stout ? But they had Karaoke or a band playing that night .
Whatever's decided on , I'll be there .0 -
I'll sure try. If there is anyway we could do it on a day that I don't have to work the next day that would be great. The company is so great it makes for a terrific evening, but the AM comes way too fast.0 -

Maybe we should wait
until we're retired. :-)Retired and loving it.0 -
Ron Jr. makes a good point.
The sit down dinner thing last BUNY was definitely more work than my wedding.
(Then again, I really just had to get a haircut and show up for my wedding so maybe that's not a good example)
Would there be as much enthusiasm if we did a cash-bar-and-food type of gathering in a month or two?
It would be great to have a good sized group so I'll do what's most attractive to people.

sounds like a great time.
Just don't conflict with BU Western Mass July 19th. Give everyone at least a week or two to recuperate between them.
Gary, we will need a lot of Red Sox fans to go with you down there to Yankee land, probably need body guards along LOL0 -
Please explain
My RPA and Siggy books show no definition of "Grappa." Nor any mention of what "Grappa damage" is. Could someone please 'splain it to me? (glad it wasn't on the RPA tests, I dodged a bullet on that one)
By the way..y'all need to experience some gen-you-ine Midwest hospitality here in Chi-Town some day. Maybe during that RPA show thingie this fall.0 -
I'm in
Sometime in June sounds great.
Friday or Saturday night sounds even better.
Any format will be fantastic.

John
It was a great time last year at the NYC BU. I would love to come down again to the city and see all of my Wallie friends. Since I am a eating machine, any menu will be great!
I would like to have an Upstate NY BU. Maybe an early fall date so it does not conflict with any other events going on. We have some great caterers up here to accomodate. Maybe a pig roast? Anyways I know it would be a great time down state, you and Maria were excellent hosts last time. Just leave the grappa on the shelf!!!!!!!!

I think the Upstate party would be very successful. I think New England would represent along with the New Yorker's! Count us in...0 -
July 25th or 26th?
I'm feeling lonely and feeble, no one loves the Massachusetts guy. How about the end of July so I can visit the Stadium? Make a weekend of it?

The date.
My only problem with June is that it's wedding season. Though it works best for me, people tend to be unavailable.
Thoughts?

If it is not on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, most dates should work. For me, the end of July, beginning of August is NG.

Me thinks the one in July that I ran was very nice
becuase we had our own room and thats important...noise levels can greatly affect conversations and the overall experience, but as long as it ain't in a biker bar, and we can sit down and take in the Manhattan or Brooklyn scene....I'll bring The Wife. Mad Dog

May is a VERY good month in many ways
I love pubs as much as Ron Jr., but The Wife has been civilizing me - albeit VERY slowly - so, a nice sit down where we can mingle is optimum for us. A cross between Johnny NY's and mine would work out very well.Mad Dog
