solar system install

But I agree with the broke hippie. If the panels are still working and you maintained the PH in the anti freeze all those years, I would put them back on the roof. What am I supposed to do, throw out my evacuated tubes after 30 years if they are still working?? Why did you hold on to 30 year old collectors anyway if you are not going to use them? Worrying abot the roof leaking under the collectors is just another excuse for not installing solar. Finding excuses is easy, what's hard is finding the money and time to install a system and try to make a difference.
Thanks, Bob Gagnon

what happens if
What happens if the roof gets a leak ? is it difficult for a roofer to do a repair under those solar pannels ?0 -
When your roof leaks
what in thirty years?? Think of what the gas and electric bills will be in thirty years, you will be happy to take them down, replace the roof and put them back up again.
Thanks, Bob Gagnon

A tilting collector mount would keep the snow off in the winter with a steep tilt, and collect more energy because it is pointed right at the low winter sun. Tilt it at about 45 degrees for the spring and fall, and nearly horizontal in the summer, if you use that much hot water, if you don't, simply tilt the collector away from direct sun, to find your sweet spot. A simple improvement like that would make solar much more efficient. We should do a solar job together this year, I'd like to pick your brain.
Thanks, Bob Gagnon
