How do I clock a rotary gas meter?
to clock? With large input equipment and compensated and corrected metering (rotary and otherwise)it is very difficult to quote clock the meter. Often you have to determine gas pressure after the regulator, orifice or in some cases with very large equipment the so called orifice is actualy a piece of pipe into the chamber so you use pipe size. Then calculate based on specific gravity and BTU content of the gas. I am sure if you know how to clock diaphragm meters you understand this procedure. It is what we have to do with propane when there is no meter.

Clocking gas meters
I was wondering if any body out there knows how to clock a rotary gas meter? Now i know how to clock a simple residential diaphram type meter, but rotary is different. So if anyone out there knows - let me know. Thanx0 -
There are different
adapters to existing meters for that purpose. Here is a link to one:

American Meter
American Meter has some very detailed manuals go to their website and see if they list this procedure. They are one of America's and Canada's main metering manufacturers. I will lok in my archives (hard copies) to see if I can find anything.
