Tekmar 279- new steam control... Anyone?

Has anybody used this control yet? I was looking at maybe using it for a future Webster Vapor Type "R" upgrade at our local trades building downtown, but I'd like to hear some feedback, first. TIA

    Thanks for the heads up

I must not be paying attention. I didn't know about this control yet. I'm working up an estimate as we speak for a 269 which is suddenly now an estimate for a 279. Its worth a try for me because of these new features:

    •built in setback clock
    •adaptive recovery
•domestic hot water set back (using boiler water temp sensor)

    Thanks.

    279

    I've installed 2 so far.

For an extra $30, I'm surprised at how much more the 279 gives.

I really like the control and have made money and happy customers installing the product.

If I had to give one piece of advice? I'd say ANY outdoor reset control works better with an indoor sensor strategically placed somewhere in the building.
    The 279 is no exception.

    Key word is

"strategically." We've been disconnecting space sensors & installing the condensate (end of main) sensor in the right location.

Still have a 269 on the shelf. It's got to go before installing 1st 279.

I wonder? How can a control that works off temperature(s), & a variable timed cycle, be an outdoor reset control?

    Well

the name does fit, since it resets the burner's run time based on, among other things, outdoor temperature.

Just found out about the 279 myself- haven't used one yet, but it sounds like a worthy successor to the tried-and-true 269.
