You Never know when they will be taken away! I just lost my "little Buddy" today from a horrible car crash. And to add insult to injury He Hit a Fuel oil truck! I helped raise this guy since he was 3 years old and his mother and I started dating. My Daughter called him her little brother (He was 19)
PLease!!!! Let them know you love them every day!

    I am sorry for your loss. It brings tears to my eyes.

    I kiss my 9 month old daughter every time I put her in and take her out of the car seat. Plus she gets tons of kisses and hugs all the time.

    Thank you all. With God's help, we will all get through this.
    We all take life for granted sometimes and I guess this is God's way of saying WAKE UP! Well... he got my attention now! It can happen to anyone at any time.I guess part of life IS death
    I'm sure I will be ok in time. Just say a prayer for his sister, his mom and biological dad and my daughter! Their the ones I worry about.
    And Dan, your right, NO one, could have loved him more than me!

    My deepest condolence, I know it must hurt real bad, especially when you guided and raised him as your own.

    I've been hearing alot about the circumstances that led to this on the news today. Tragic.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Words cannot describe the sadness.

    Today the news around here was of three young 17-year-olds who also died in a terrible car crash. I watched the report and began crying. I plan to share the story with my son, who will soon start driver's ed. Besides hugging our kids we need to talk to them, too.

    Wow. Losing a child is almost beyond belief. My heart goes out to you.

    The trite saying is “I feel your pain” but in this case I really do.

    We lost our daughter (actually my step-daughter) in January of 2005. She had some personal demons, but was on the road back. We had temporary guardianship of her kids. She tucked them into bed at our house at 9 pm. We got the call at midnight. She was involved with some Very Bad People and we think she had told them she was getting out, but she knew too much and was professionally silenced. She was stabbed over a dozen times and had her throat cut. The FBI took her computer.

    So now at 55 I volunteered to become daddy to a 3 year old girl and a 7 year old boy. They are now 6 and 10, but I’m getting younger by the day! Every night I spend at least half an hour reading to them, tucking them in and telling them how much I love them. Dan is right. Hug your kids. You never know…

    Unfortunately, the low life slimeball that did this is still out there breathing the same air we do.

    I understand the attachment

    My son from my first marriage now 21 was 11 days old when we brought him home. He is adopted. My son from my present marriage just turned 8 when we got maiired, he is going on 15. I love them both equally. It matters not where a child comes from, once in your home they are yours and you love them so much.
