If you just went off efficiency #s the you would see appx 10 to 12% rougggghly. Usually if you are using condensing boilers (2) for the high efficiency type, you will get outdoor reset which will help some and also less cycling which increases efficiency also. I know of no real accurate way of determining the real #s but I would hope to see 15 to 25% efficiency increases, this is over a standard single cast iron atmospheric boiler installation. my .02 worth. does anyone have a formula to show a building owner an approx.payback if he replaces his 800k btu gas boiler with multiple boilers? He's getting prices on a replacement and prices on 2 and 3 with a lead lag approach. The old boiler was a chimney vent boiler and the new ones will be s/s direct vent. Currently the nat.gas bills are 7k per month.

Some of the Main Viessmann Distributors have a Commercial programme that will do this comparison i.e. from the regular 800k boiler to one modcon or Multiple modcons.

You should maybe "visit" the boiler and check the Efficiency while it is still running.

Has it been cleaned on a yearly bases? If not and it was say a 80% boiler you can deduct 1.5 to 2 % efficiency for every years Worth of build up on the Heat exchanger...

I had one Last month that was approx @55% eff...That is great, 45 cents to the dollar up the Chimney..
