Tim, thanks.Yes the boiler has run for approx 9 years. It is on a Buderus 115/28 ! this is not a approved "Marriage" by carlin!
One more thing that i will do is to clean the Boiler Chamber,i think that it has never been cleaned, which is bad!..I also will Readjust the Combustion Again. The HSI is 1/2 year old.

Carlin Burner G3B
Help..
I've got a customer in Alma CO that i am going to see now.
He's got a Carlin burner G3B At 11000 feet on Propane that keeps on Locking out on him.
I've Adjusted the Combustion Last year and it ran fine for About 3/4 of a Year. I've tried to get some Information about the Flame sensing on line but they want a code to gain access to that info...
Does anyone know this information?..Thanks Heatmeister...0 -
If it has the
Fenwal 05-32 module the minimum is 5 microamps minimum.
If the Honeywell S89C then minimum is .8 of a microamp.
Air setting is critical on the G3 A and B burners. Also make sure the screen on the front of the burner is clean. Be careful when removing the Hot Surface Igniter which has to be done in order to clean the screen.
Make sure your overfire draft is -.01 when it gets higher than that depending on the boiler the flame may pull away and you will have nuisance shut down. Make sure a double swing barometric is used.0 -
Thank you Tim....
Thank you Tim. it was the Fenwal and it never had a Grounding wire back to the supply.. so i ran one back to the supply..also took the burner apart and cleaned it. it was not to dirty..then i daied it in and everything was looking good.. thanks Richard...0 -
another Lockout!
That service call is back!
Normally i do not have Callbacks! and i hate them..
I 've Deon every thing that i think had to be Deon, i.e re grounded the burner, Cleaned everything, checked the incoming pressure,Dailed it in with the Analyzer.
The only thing i did not check is the Overfire Draft setting..
I do not know how to.. I've got all kinds of Manometers... do i check the exhaust? Fireside of the chamber..? Maybe the Gas regulator is frozen or broken ? Honeywell Gasvalve stuck sometimes?Ignition module ? I do not just want to be swapping parts!0 -
Change the control...don't know why, but it seems to get stupid after awhile and you'll drive yourself nuts trying all sorts of tricks. If everything else is ok and clean...change the control.

Did this unit ever run without problems?
I assume adjustments have been made for altitude, if not they should be done.
Do you have the book on the Carlin G3B. If so go through each and every installtion step. Really dial in the air settings as they can be a problem.
The over fire draft can be taken by drilling a hole at the flange mounting the burner to the boiler or if there is an oil peep hole use that. Depending on the type analyzer you have it will give you that reading when setup to measure draft.
It would not be a bad idea to put in a new igniter as the Norton Igniter's when they get old form a film on the igniter which can cause poor microamp signal.0 -
Darrell.Yes and thank you. I've talked to Carlin about this..
The Fenwal seems to get "Stupid".... they recommened using the Honeywell instead.. I've got one Droped shipped to the customer...I will know more tomorrow.0 -
Cleaning!

I think i will check the Fire Draft thru the Peep hole before and after the Cleaning to see if anything changes so that there may be some "Lessons Learned"..0 -
The Honeywell Module
has difficulty fitting into the area the Fenwal 05-32 occuppied. What I have done is drill some holes on the left side of the blue panel holding the electronics and mount the Honeywell outside the box. May not look to great but it works.0 -
I will do that. Thank you again. And off to work i go.0 -
draft
Tim, the -.01 is over fire or the breach?
BTW- the g115-28 has a liitle tap/stud where you just back off the screw and stick your tubing onto the tap/stud/whatever it's called.
