Using a 3-speed circ as an injection circ?

done it multiple times. By dialing in your injection rate with the appropriate speed, you can actaully improve the "rangeability" of your injections system.

Using a 3-speed circ as an injection circ?
Is it possible to use a multi-speed circ such as a 3-speed Grundfos ups15-58 or a Taco 00R-IFC as an injection circ rather than using a standard single speed circ?0 -
Absolutely,
Poor mans injection pump (can only dial it in close, not adjust for system & demand changes and bangs on and off versus variable)0 -
you can still hook up these pumps to a mix control to vary the speed accordingly on supply/demand temps
such as tekmar T356, etc.
we've done this with great results.
the 3 speed selection as per above does narrow the "range" nicely.0 -
Yes, still hooked to VSI control
Did not mean to imply above that you did not have it connected to a VSI control of some kind. Without the VSI control, well, lets just say there is absolutely NO rangeability.

Thanks everyone..
Yes I'll be hooking it up to a Tekmar control. Thanks for the info.If you are carrying a 3-speed in your truck,it could also get you out of a bind if a vsi circ goes down and you don't have a replacement.0 -
Wait a second...
The responses here suggest this is a good idea.
Wouldn't the speed selection (other than "high") limit the high-speed range, thereby limiting the functions of the VSI controller?
Why would you willingly do that?

Whose Circ?
Hi Rocky,
Do you remeber if it was a 3-speed Taco that you used? I got a call from Grundfos today and they told me not to use the UPS 15-58.Apparently you can't use it because of the way it is internally wired.0
