Does Olsen make Power Vent Furnaces

Does Olsen make power vent furnaces, or do they just produce direct vent?

I am trying to determine if the BML upflow oil furnace I am researching is a Power Vent or a Direct Vent.

Hi Rachel.

I am work in the technical Support department for ECR International - Olsen division.

We manufacture oil furnaces in Chimney, and Direct vent models. Some after market power ventor assemblies have been tested and work fine. While we have never tested the BML 80B series with an after market power exhauster, we foresee no difficulties in the application as a power ventor essentially mimics the draft of a chimney.

The Exhauster must be of the proper size and type for the application, and the intallation must be acceptable to your Authiority having jurisdiction.

Please be advised, that we cannot assist on installation problems if they are related to draft as we have no reference regarding the use of power exhausters. The technical support is the providence of the exhauster manufaturer.

Direct Venting is an option that requires no external motors, and because they do not use internal structure air, eliminates the competition with range hoods and other appliances in the home. There is a limitation of 20' for the direct vent models. Our preference in any oil installation is a chimney, but direct venting and power venting are options.
