Wild Weather

Radar link kept updating, and rain kept coming. Slowed considerably for a few hours, but continuous rain since about 2:00 a.m. yesterday with 1' of rain. Yes, that's one foot. Looks like one more bout of heavy rain and it will finally be over.

Swampeast MO is stuck. Three ice storms in three weeks now >9" of official rain since midnight, and many more inches predicted and not stopping until tomorrow afternoon.

Hope the radar link works. Cape Girardeau, MO is under storm H1 in the final frame. The front has not moved since 2:00 a.m. and doesn't look like it's going to move for many more hours. I'm in no danger of flooding, but basement is leaking more than I've seen in 13 years. Am glad the original masons were very good and everything flows nicely to the floor drains.

An interesting blog entry by Weather Channel's top meterologist.

Both ways are proper but I prefer the former. You hear "Mizura" mainly north of the Missouri River.
  • Wow...

Looks like its going to be a VERY interesting spring this year.

As recently deceased popular writer Art Buchwald said when asked what he was going to miss most on Earth, "Global warming. I want to see what you all are going to do!"

    Very interesting indeed.

Here in the Rockies, numerous snowfall records were broken. Thats great for the ski industry, but now we have to put up with the runoff during the melt season.

    Mother Nature. What a show.

I suspect we will see more "SUPER storms" than we've ever seen before, and they'll just continue to get worse.

We had that \"big\" rain for the last 3 days

. In the 14 years we have been here I've never seen that much fall from the sky so quickly.

Some minor flooding at my place. Need to re-grade all the gravel drives.

A nearby earth sheltered home on HWY 60 was completely under water.
