Can anyone explain why the Gorton #1 has a 3/4-inch thread and the Gorton #2, which vents like four #1's has a 1/2-inch thread?
Is a 1/2-inch tap OK for two Gorton #1 on a manifold. It just is not intuitive.
Just wondering.

My point is simply that it seems that the smaller venting capacity would have the smaller thread.
If you use multiple vents, what size nipple is really needed?Steve from Denver, CO0 -
Gorton #1 Has
both 3/4" AND 1/2" on the same vent. The 3/4" is MPT and the 1/2" is FPT. Very convenient I think.
The core diameter is still that of a 1/2" pipe which exceeds the venting capacities you are dealing with.
Personally though, if you are making a Menorah or combining vents on a common expanded line, I would use at least a 1" pipe to keep the pressure drops low.0 -
Thanks all!
