Help: Hydro Coil Vs. Gas Furnace?

I'm looking to replace my 30 year old Furnace. IAm I better off buying an air handler with hydro coil and suppling my coil with the new tankless water heater i just had installed. Is this more energy efficient? Or show I just stick with a new gas furnace?

    tankless

Is your tankless rated for more than dhw? What is the efficiency rating? Your heat loss requirement? Do you need A/C ?

    A hydro system

will allow you to modulate your heat output far better than a one or even two-stage furnace. It can also heat your domestic hot water.

Spare zones (or at least capped valves for future) can be provided for direct radiators at hard to heat areas, towel warmers or the occasional radiant floor, even if one or two rooms. Variable speed air handlers with ECM motors can save HP and allow fine-tuning of output to what you need, not what a fixed or limited-speed furnace can provide. You can turn down the airflow and save HP without burnout risk...

I take it that you already have a duct system so that is why you are asking, AC desired or not...

All said, I would go hydro. Much more flexible and efficient if you are smart about it.
