Mike Smith, the lead singer for the Dave Clark Five passed away yesterday at the age of 64 from pneumonia.

The Dave Clark Five will be inducted into the Rock & Roll hall of Fame in 2 weeks. Unfortunately he didn't make it to see the day.

Dave Clark Five was one of the great British bands of the 60's, with hits like Glad All Over, Bits & Pieces and Catch Us If You Can. They also appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show 11 times. A great loss in the world of Rock & Roll

For bring that to our attention. The British Invasion brought some of the greatest talent ever assembled. Their catalog will stand the test of time. Hard to believe that "Glad All Over" was freaking 1963! Can't think of another rock band where the drummer was out in front?

Hard to believe

that until the British explosion, the Brits depended on us for their Rock N Roll. The British kids would forage for imported american records for "the new stuff." and then try to incorporate it in their own brand and style of music. Their simmering pot of rock led to some of the greatest pop and rock music ever. Too bad he didnt make it to the induction. 64 is awfully young. WW
