WILO \"Smart Pump\" Training - Denver - April 11
Good day fellow Wallies.
Please be advised the day prior to the Denver Wetstock WILO is offering a full day training program (April 11) at the Radisson (same hotel as Wetstock) from 8:00 to 4:00.
Topics include standard pump applications, variable flow applications, ECM vs VFD, LEED/Green discussions and overall energy savings, Stratos and ECO training.
I have attached a registration form (there is a charge for this training - $50.00 with no IR device and $150.00 that includes the infra red device).
See you at least at Wetstock - hopefully at our training.0 -
Good idea
for those arriving early!Retired and loving it.0 -
I'm in!
Looking forward to it!

Tell me about the IR device?
This sounds like a training I need to be at. Can you tell me about the IR device? (Proprietary for Wilo equipment?)
Regards,

Hey, Steve I am going to bring the Mobile "show room" Trailer down to the Wetstock ,It has The Wilo Stratos Circ Installed in it and is a working model.
All i will need is 110 V hookup and we can use this as a "tranings Tool" If you want to?? Richard from Heatmeister.0 -
Wilo Training
I too am interested in the training and would like a little more info on the IR Device.
Since I plan on driving I will have to move up my departure to attend0 -
IR device
The IR (Infra-red) device has quite a few functions with the Wilo Stratos.
You can:
Retrieve real time data. (Current power consumption, Feet head, GPM, RPM, water temp, operating mode just to name a few)
Retrieve historical data. (Hours run, total power used, error codes)
Re-program the Stratos. (Change operating modes from DeltaP constant to DeltaP variable to Delta T, change head set points or RPM, lock out the "red button" to prevent others from changing your settings, activate or deactivate the circ etc.....)
It allows you to fine tune the Stratos to run at max efficiency by letting you see what the system REALLY needs with regard to head/gpm. You'd be surprised to see what a system head requirement REALLY is. A fellow wallie installed a couple Stratos in a school in Long Island. He called me last week to tell me that he had adjusted the Stratos to it's lowest setting and it is performing flawlessly. He replaced two 7.5 hp circs with the Stratos. The 7.5 circ would draw close to 60 amps while the Stratos is doing the job drawing just over an amp when the load is full. Point being, what was spec'd for head/gpm wasn't even close to the actual. WAY TOO HIGH.
The IR device is a window into the inner workings of the system. No more guessing, just the facts in REAL TIME!
Hope to see you there!

Photos of Richard's Showroom Trailer!
Got the chance to meet up with Richard and a couple of his guys today for lunch. Heatmeister Richard took Richard and Edwin (from Marathon Int.) and myself to check out his showroom trailer. It looked awesome and featured three operating Mod-cons, radiators and my personal favorite, the Stratos pump. I had my PDA and WILO IR reader and connected to the pump. Don't tell Richard this but I adjusted the settings to send him on a troubleshooting adventure of a lifetime (not really). I took some pictures of the trailer (thankfully the snow melted enough to find it) and I am attaching them. Thanks Richard for your hospitality and really look forward to seeing you at WetStock - Jagr On!0 -
Jeez...Did he go around the corner too fast...
Looks like he rolled it on its side :-)
Nice work. Now all he has to do is figure out some way to use it for melting snow and he can retire.
Good job guys.

Yo....Mark
If you had waited until the evening of April 11 to look at those pics, they would have appeared right side up.
I taught Tim and his crew a new game while they were in Chicago. It's called "Mark's nightcaps".
We'll have to play it in Denver. hehehhe
******Important******** If you live in Denver and enjoy drinking scotch.....you may want to stock up now. There will be a "shortage" after April 12.0 -
