I like both. The Becketts have a slight edge in the smaller GPH and I prefer Carlin in the larger GPH.

Carlin Vs. Beckett
Does anyone have a preference between using a Carlin CRD or a Beckett AFG? If so, why? In this particular instance it is for use with a Burnham V88, but I am just wondering in general.0 -
I like that fact that I can stick my hand down the blast tube of a Beckett. Not really a big deal when the unit is operating.
Other than that I have no preference.0 -
WHAT U GET TRAINED ON

It depends
I work for an oil company and service all burners. I like both Beckett and Carlin. Some burners do work better in certain boilers than others. What does Burnham offer in this model,I am not that familier with it. Or is your service company recommending a certain burner, go with what they are most comfortable with. A good tech can service any burner but not all techs are equal.

Both good burners
use whichever you are most comfortable with.

if you can afford it go with a riello. you wont be diss.other than that i have always had better luck with the becketts0 -
I'm sure
Carlin is better now, but had bad experiences with them years ago...I'm a Beckett fan myself, most dependable burner out there.0 -
Either one,
if adjusted properly, w/ instruments, & routine maintenance, by someone w/ necessary instrumentation, will give excellent service.0 -
Always liked Carlin and use it whenever I can. Beckett is normally better in some smaller furnaces but if the equipment can run with a Carlin I will use a Carlin. They are alot more forgiving and tend to hold their adjustments better. Some people like Ford and some like Chevy0
