Every piece of baseboard needs to have a bleeder on it to get the air out. Are you pumping away? If you are pumping away try running the boiler and power purging at the same time, it should get the air out of the system.

hydronic mess?
I was blessed a few weeks back to inherit a mess of a job referred by an insurance claim. The rental property froze because the tenant neglegted to pay his gas bill in the fall and had his meter locked off. NOTE** turns out we had a grow house on hand here.
Frozen pipes and split baseboard copper fin rads all around. They hired someone to come in and replace the rads(plumber) and then I was brought in to check the boiler over and start up the system. Viessman Vitogas 50, electronic ignition. The boiler was installed in 2000 and I found the C venting on top of this little guy completly rusted out and basically mush. Signs of condensation running down over the iside of the front vestibule was very evident. 35'x 5" aluminum liner was present and no rain cap with broken clay tile showing on chimney top.
The S&R piping is 3/4"copper with Armstrong monoflow tees installed for each rad.
Had a fairly easy time getting hot water to flow through the system except for one upper section going vertical from the basement up to the second floor. There are small manual bleeders for each room but not at all section of fins.keeping pressure in system at approx. 15psi and the boiler is being controlled srictly with the built in aquastat at 180. Can someone expain this type of system to me and are there any recomm. or changes you would make ?
