it is not. It is "fastened" up tight to the underfloor using thin aluminum plates which hold it up and I presume provides a modicum of heat sink and perhaps even some heat reflection through the floor. what difference in heat "volume" generated is there between 5/8 and 1/2 pex??

    4 5/8\" circs from ONE 3/4\" supply?

When you have several (4 to 6) 5/8" pex zones (individual rooms) that all are fed back to their respective in/out manifold and these two manifolds hang off a single standard 3/4" hot water tank feed, each of the zones is pushing 5/8" volume/pressure times 4 to 6....Does this not present a backpressure problem to the circulator pumps? What solution would aleviate this condition?

    questions?

i think you have more important questions to answer here?

what is your heatload? where did you come up with this design from? sounds like the 5/8 is just going to 'hang' in the joist bays? whats your typical winter low temp?

should keep questions in one post for clarity.

I don't mean to be mean, but I think you are over your head here? possibly need to start at the beginning, theres good books in Dans "Online Store" at top of page here.

piping arrangements are not all the same.

i think you have one side of your system limited by one thing and the other limited by another. What you would likely need is a way to get each doing what it is supposed to do and a means of controlling that communication to function in the manner you want it to. there is one other minor technicality, neither side may be able to preform up to your expectations.
