Just curious what types of estimation software others are using. How friendly is it to Hydronics?

    Thanks,

    Josh

the best one i have found is my brain.com

I could not help it but I sometimes find software to be a lazy way out of using my brain. Tim :)

Quite true. I have a distinct accuracy problem with my brain however when the project exceeds 5 or 6 weeks length.

    I've often wondered what

people used to estimate. I made up my own spread sheet years ago, but have always thought, there must be a better way. Watching with interest. WW

    Josh,

I have used a system called Wendes for about ten years now and would not change to anything else.

I was one of their first plumbing system users and helped them with feed back the first couple of years.

I only use the plumbing/piping portion but they also have a duct work sytem that we used to use when still doing HVAC which we got out of six/seven years ago.

I have bid around 350 million dollars in those years and landed around 23%

I am on vacation, away from the office and will be back next week if you would like more information but you could
Google them to get a contact.

I have had few problems with the system over the years and when I did they responded quickly and got me going even at times taking over my computer from Chicago while I watched the mouse move across the screen.

    Good luck,

    Jack

    E Z Heat loss

Jerry and I used this program for years before and after they added radiant calculations and always had real good luck with it. Don't know if it exists still

Maybe I should tell you guys where I am going with this. We are currently working off of spreadsheets but need to do estimates a little quicker as we expand.

I am willing to make a significant investment if it's worth it. I need something with hydronic and sheet metal. Sheet metal seems easy but were having trouble finding a program with hydronic manifolds and room to room pex estimations.
