    Hot water comes and goes

I have a 5 1/2 year old Laars Endurance. My domestic hot water is fluctuating between hot, luke warm and cold. The Unit is showing an F-4 and F-6 fault code. These are for the tank sensor and return sensor. I don't believe they have anything to do with the hot water. Also can't believe they both went bad at the same time.
The water flow switch was replaced last year, as it was leaking. System worked fine until 3 weeks ago when I suddenly had no heat. After washing up and using hot water, heat started working. Boiler tech said flow switch sometimes sticks.
Anyway, for past 2 weeks hot water comes and goes throughout shower as well as in kitchen sink. Could it be the heat exchanger? How frequent does this happen? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    That unit...

...is the biggest P.O.S. of all time.

If you're going to keep it, go buy yourself a box of circuit boards and an anti-condensing valve.

Laars knows that generation of Endurance is a disaster so they completely redesigned the new models.

(I have to apologize to NM, who is a good guy, now working at Laars. I'm glad he's there and the Endurance problems pre-date his involvement with the company, but the old-style Endurance cost me plenty.)
